"Portrait of Dr. Gachet" (Dutch: Portrett van Dr. Gachet) is one of the most famous works by the Dutch late impressionist artist Vincent van Gogh, painted in 1890, when he was admitted to a mental hospital for treatment by Dr. Paul Gachet. On May 15, 1990, the painting set the highest auction price ever for a work of art at $82.50 million. There are two versions of the painting, the first version is now in private collection; the second version is currently stored in the Musée d'Orsay in Paris.
